About me
I developed a keen interest in art and drawing from an early age and always had a inquisitive and creative mind, so it was inevitable that I should pursue a career within this field. Initially graduating as a three-dimensional / industrial product designer at Ravensbourne College of art and design, then post graduate teaching practice at the University of London Institute of Education. Have worked broadly within the design field in the areas of graphic, exhibition, product, architectural and information design, and have relevant and extensive work experience in the museum, educational and commercial sectors.
Illustration and sketching is a vital tool for the artist and designer to communicate ideas. As a professional I bring a background of relevant work experience and knowledge to whatever illustration or design I create. Enjoy problem solving and communicating clearly, and with impact if necessary. Also have a naturally detailed approach, but can also work more freely if required.
Work for a variety of clients : Design companies, freelance designers, district councils, publishers, independent retailers, trusts, conservation groups and societies and private commissions.
Some recent commissions include :
Natural history interpretation panel illustrations in Danson Park, Welling, Kent - London Borough of Bexley
Botanical illustrations for interpretation panel located at Pepys Park, Deptford - London Borough of Lewisham
Several commissioned portraits and decorative works
Species illustration for interpretation panel located at Beckenham Place Park - London Borough of Lewisham
Habitat illustrations for information Centre at Foots Cray Meadows - London Borough of Bexley
Habitat and topographic illustrations - Darwins Landscape Laboratory. Pitch publication - Bromley Council
Book illustration - The Fox Project
Tree species illustrations - Tales from Claybury Woods - London Borough of Redbridge
Local places of special interest for Civic Centre display - Greenwich Council
I am a member of the Association of Illustrators
